Je zou denken dat het een Duits bier is, maar mogelijk wordt het in Haacht gebrouwen (de informatie is wazig). Ik heb het gelukkig nog nooit gedronken, want geheel volgens de wetten van het vooroordeel weet ik zeker dat het gewoon een te zware pils van lage kwaliteit is. Een bier voor alcoholici. Ja sorry, maar zo is het. Je kunt het kopen voor de schandalig lage prijs van €0,59 per halve liter. Jongens toch.

Lees overigens, als het je interesseert, het commentaar van een zekere ‘Alengrin’ op ratebeers.com. Hij/Zij zegt het ook (en geeft een score 8/20), maar dan met veel meer woorden. Ik denk dat ik de poëzie van deze beschrijving veel hoger waardeer dan het bier zelf: “One of those cheap, canned, extra strong Euro pale lagers (the northern European equivalent of American malt liquor), from a Carrefour supermarket. Thick, coarse, strongly cobweb-lacing, snow white head over a cristal clear, warm ’old gold’ coloured beer with lively sparkling. Aroma cannot hide a strong presence of peppery, gin-like alcohol next to impressions of white bread dough, powder sugar, damp cloth, iron, bourbon, dried banana, wet paper, dull sourish grains. Sweet onset, no esters, more a maltose-like ’sugariness’, bit banana-like, bland but not cloying, medium carbo, very smooth, somewhat oily body, somewhat metallic but less so than I had feared, simple pale malt sweetness with still a caramelly touch lending it a bit more body than many other examples of the style; a dash of grassy hop bitterishness is added in the finish but only mildly so, and as expected, the alcohol is overly present, wodka-like with even a slight burn to it, above all that malt and sugary maltose sweetness and a bit astringent. This is another typical cheap alcoholics’ strong lager for sure, but it has a bit more body to it than usual and though the alcohol is inevitable, I had many examples (like that horrible Atlas series) which do a far worse job at vainly trying to hide it. One of the better examples of a generally dreadful lager style, almost feels like the bottom-fermented counterpart of the sweet side of Belgian tripel (which was probably the intention).”
